When we discovered the A Pasturella a few years ago, we knew that we had stumbled on a gem. We were right – it has since become the personal favourite of many of our clients.
Perched on a steep hill, just two miles from the bustling resort of Ile Rousse with its colourful harbour, shops, cafés and wide sandy beaches, the A Pasturella is the focal point in the main square of the tiny, typically Corsican and truly charming medieval stone village of Monticello. Recently the village built a municipal outdoor swimming pool alongside its public tennis courts which clients can use (payable locally).
This small hotel, with its lively atmosphere, is run with pride and enthusiasm by a friendly and cheerful family. They have recently refurbished the main areas of the hotel as well as most of the bedrooms and shower rooms - the design is minimalist chic, with neutral colours and fabrics. This now a comfortable "boutique" style retreat in the hills offering very good food and the most congenial atmosphere with all the amenities of Ile Rousse close by.
