Nestling in the valley of La Restonica, right in the heart of the Corsican National Park, is this family run hotel. Most of the 29 recently built rooms, in the Hotel Dominique Colonna, offer a view of the river gushing along and the surrounding mountains. The swimming pool is very welcoming in the midst of the scent of Alpine pines.
There is an abundance of walking trails not far from the hotel through the still and fragrant Restonica Forest past weary nomadic cows and leading past cascades to the lakes of Melo (2 hours) and Capitello (3 hours).
The hotel is however only a 20 minute walk from Corte – Corsica’s ancient capital town and now the home of Corsica’s university and a cultural centre in its own right. You may also board the ‘Micheline train’ at Corte railway station for a memorable journey through deep valleys to Vizzavona, Ajaccio, Calvi or Bastia.
- 29 recently built rooms (2 with handicapped access) in two storey building with bathroom/WC and satellite TV, air-conditioning, telephone, wifi connection and hairdryer plus balcony or terrace. Superior rooms are larger and have space for an extra bed (supplement payable).
- Heated swimming pool 13m x 5m, small garden area/ping pong/ boules.
- River bathing (access from hotel grounds).
- Clearly marked mountain trails.
- Canoeing, kayak and trout fishing on the mountain lakes.

- Independently run restaurant next door, which overlooks the river. Good selection of cafés and restaurants in Corte.
