Surrounded by chestnut trees and breathtaking mountain scenery, Evisa is
one of the most beautiful of Corsican villages and stands on a rocky spur that
separates the upper valley of the Porto river
from the ravine of the Aitone stream. Totally unspoilt, this area boasts plenty
of walking in the two pine forests of Aitone and Valdo Niello. Around this area
you will see all kinds of wild animals roaming freely, particularly near the
Col De Vergio with its glorious statue of Christ overlooking a magnificent view.
The river Aitone drops through a succession of waterfalls that leave natural
swimming holes.
For those who prefer the sea Porto is only 45 minutes drive away through the
spectacular Spelunca gorge; although we do recommend a stop at one of the
little restaurants in the village of Ota (5km inland from Porto)
for a quiet relaxing meal. The hotel is in a wonderful location and is ideal
for a week of relaxation and beautiful scenery.
