Carpe Diem Palazzu is one of the mansion houses owned by prosperous families in Corsica during the 18th century. When the present owner had the opportunity to purchase this majestic property he seized the opportunity, and when it was reveiled that the house could be traced back to his wife's ancestors, a labour of love began.
With their artistic flair and impeccable taste the owners have recreated a 20th cantury version of the original mansion but retained all the original features which give the house its character and charm. In each of the individually decorated six suites the original features and family heirlooms are discreetly blended with more modern comforts.
Despite the peace and tranquillity of the surroundings Carpe Diem Palazzu is only 20-25 minutes from either the bustling center of Ajaccio or the lovely Bay of Porticcio; alternatively take the spectacular drive up to Bastelica via the fabulous Prunelli Gorges or further afield visit the fascinating archeological site of Filitosa. The owner with his many acquaintances and unlimited knowledge will be delighted to share his recommendations of places to visit, picturesque walks and traditional local villages.
For relaxation, the heated swimiming pool, jacuzzi, hammam are to be enjoyed and massages or beauty treatments can be organised through the reception. The maison d'hotes offers a continental breakfast; cold platters are available at lunch; dinner is served using ingredients and herbs from the adjacent gardens - on warm evening tables are laid outside.
